Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours?

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm:

90 minute psychotherapy sessions are available 8:00am, 11:00am, and 2:00pm.

15-minute no-cost consultations are available 9:30am, 12:30pm, and 3:30pm.

Do you offer no-cost consultations?

Yes! I offer a 15-minute no-cost consultation, available in-person or via telehealth. This is an opportunity to meet, ask questions, and learn more about the psychotherapy process at Hearts at Home Counseling.

If we both agree we’re a good match, we’ll schedule your intake session to begin our work together. You will need time between your consultation and intake session to sign in to the Client Portal and to complete the required forms.

What is intentional psychotherapy?

Intentional psychotherapy is a focused, personalized approach to therapy that goes beyond symptom relief. It’s about understanding patterns, deepening self-awareness, and creating meaningful change through practicing new choices in your life.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, each session is structured with purpose and depth, helping you build insight and take steps toward lasting transformation.

How often do we meet?

Sessions are scheduled weekly, biweekly or monthly, based on your needs, schedule, and preferences. Weekly sessions are recommended at the start to build momentum and support meaningful change.

Most clients see a reduction in symptoms after four appointments.

What is the cost?

A 90-minute intentional, focused psychotherapy session is $250 private pay. Payment is due before or at the end of each session. Private pay offers greater flexibility and confidentiality, allowing us to focus on what truly matters—your healing—without insurance limitations on session length, frequency, or treatment approach

Do you take health insurance?

I do accept a few health insurance options. For a 60-minute psychotherapy session, you may use one of the accepted health insurance options. Your payment is the allowed amount established by your health insurance company. You pay the allowed amount until your deductible is met, and then any copay or percentage share cost required by your insurance company.

If you want to use your health insurance and I am out-of-network for for your health insurance plan and your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill or statement for you to submit for potential reimbursement. Be sure to check with your insurance provider, as deductibles and allowed amounts vary.

If you have health insurance and want to participate in 90-minute intentional sessions, you’ll need to opt out of using insurance on the required insurance information form.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act (2022), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of therapy when using private pay. During the intake process, you will sign an informed consent document, which includes an estimate detailing biweekly and/or monthly costs.
